Re-purposing 2 liter soda bottles not only helps the environment, but it can also save you money when you are able make things you might normally buy.
Here are several practical uses for 2 liter plastic bottles around your garden and yard.

Collecting Flower Seeds Using A Plastic Bottle
Save time at the end of the season when you collect seeds from your flowers by converting a plastic bottle into a seed collector.
Cut off the bottom of a bottle. Remove the top bottle cap and secure a plastic bag over the neck of the bottle using a rubber band.
Hold the bottom of the bottle under the seed heads and they’ll drop in as you cut them.
For smaller seeds like petunias, allysum, impatiens, and others, you can even screen out the unwanted plant material by placing a round section of window screen into the bottle. The screen allows the tiny seeds to fall through into the plastic bag.

If you are planning on making a soda bottle bird feeder, why not also make a birdseed scoop/funnel also made using a plastic bottle.
Cut an angled section from the bottom and you’ll have an instant scoop. When you’re ready to fill your bird feeder, unscrew the cap and pour in the birdseed.

Stepping Stone Forms Using Plastic Bottles

Plastic Bottle Stepping Stone Mold
To make your round mold, cut two 3 inch wide by 13 inch long strips from a plastic 2 liter bottle. Cut two round templates to your preferred dimensions from a piece of cardboard.
Use staples or tape to connect the ends of the plastic strips to form a circle, using the cardboard as your guide.
One piece of the cardboard should be placed in the bottom of the plastic form. The second piece of cardboard is added to the top after the concrete has been poured; this section helps maintain a uniform shape while the concrete hardens.
